Edgardo A. Leiva Cardona, DDS
Dr. Edgardo Leiva, a Honduras native, is excited to join the Christie Dental family and to be a resident of the beautiful Brevard County. Dr. Leiva is the oldest of seven and a dedicated husband and father. Dr. Leiva enjoys working and serving people of all ages and backgrounds. He played collegiate soccer at Lewis and Clark Community College, McKendree University, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Such collegiate experience helps him value his dental team as they practice patient-centered care. As a way to give back to the community, he founded Soccer Roots, an organization that aims to contribute to the development of the youth through soccer. Dr. Leiva enjoys painting, traveling, and outdoor sports. The majority of his spare time is dedicated to his lovely wife, Mayne Chiaparro, and their baby boy, Kai.
Experience
While completing his dental degree, Dr. Leiva was awarded honors in Predoctoral Advance Studies in Endodontics and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry for Excellence in Esthetic Dentistry.
Dr. Leiva has great respect for his profession, therefore placing value on continuing education, technological advances, and personal development.

Melissa B. King, DDS
After completing her studies, Dr. King practiced dentistry for a year in St. Louis, Missouri, before relocating to Viera in 2017 with her family. She enjoys being a part of this vibrant community, raising her children, and serving her patients. Today, Dr. King balances her professional responsibilities with an active home life, chasing after three young sons with her husband, Jeff, and caring for their two dogs. A devoted fan, she cheers for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Green Bay Packers and loves all things Disney. Dr. King speaks English and Spanish and prides herself on delivering dental care that meets the needs of patients from all backgrounds. As a mother of three, she understands the importance of patience and efficiency, qualities that she and her team extend to each patient, treating them with the utmost respect and compassion.
Experience
While at Notre Dame, Dr. King was an active participant on the synchronized skating team, competing across the Midwest and Pacific Coast. She also served as President of the Operation Smile club, demonstrating her dedication to service and leadership. This dedication extended into dental school, where she took part in a mission abroad to provide essential dental services to underserved populations.
